A Playful Look At The Angels In Our Lives

InMyDream We love Free Spirits who don’t take themselves too seriously. Brian Andreas is an American writer, painter, sculptor, technologist and publisher widely known for an ongoing series of works titled StoryPeople.
With all the Angels hype going on right now… (If you haven’t already registered for our upcoming June 2nd Tea Talk With The Angels hurry!)… We’ve been salivating over all things angels. And so today we share with you some of Brian Andreas Angels of Mercy drawings.

Closet Angels There are angels everywhere you can imagine. I saw one hiding in the closet in our bedroom once & I invited her out, but she said she was waiting for a friend thank you just the same & next time I looked she was gone.

Angel of Mercy  Most people don’t know there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don’t get too comfortable & fall asleep & miss your life.

Waiting for Signs I used to wait for a sign, she said, before I did anything. Then one night I had a dream & an angel in black tights came to me & said, you can start any time now, & then I asked is this a sign? & the angel started laughing & I woke up. Now, I think the whole world is filled with signs, but if there’s no laughter, I know they’re not for me.

waitingforsignsThe Storypeople is an incredible collaboration of stories collected from all over the world in the early 90’s, just as the internet was being born.  Andreas took these stories and brought them to life in his very distinct playful style of art. The Storypeople collection now includes twelve books incorporating drawings and writings; color prints of his drawings and short stories; and mixed-media sculptures.

In 1994, Andreas co-founded the company, Storypeople, to distribute his work worldwide, with a group describing themselves collectively as a diverse group of people, artists, activists, healers, tinkerers. and in 2012 he founded, a collaborative digital storytelling  and communication platform that “will change the way we view ourselves & the planet. Moving from data to meaning. With tools that will help us remember that we’re all creative & beautiful & alive. Tools that will help us remember who we are.” (Andreas. 2009).

On their site, the Storypeople team states “Our wish is that other people experience this amazing world we live in as a world of imagination & possibility & healing. We believe our stories do that. (& that’s not just StoryPeople stories, but all our stories…) We believe (fiercely) in the power of stories, not because they’re our stories, but because it is valuable & right to protect the precious connections between people.”
