Vision Boards Sound Awesome! But… What If I Don’t Know What I Want???

This is a coVisionBoard-1mmon question we’ve come across. Many Free Spirits love life and know that they want to keep on loving life, but they aren’t quite sure what to do next to keep on loving life. Vision boards are a powerful tool for connecting to our subconscious, assisting us with visualizing that which we know that we want… and that which is waiting to be unveiled. If you’re dreaming of your dream home, your dream job, your dream mate, or your dream vacation, a vision board can assist you with visualizing and creating a jump-off point for making it happen. A vision board says to the universe “I’m ready, here’s what I want, let’s make this happen!”. BUT you don’t have to know what you want! Here are a few ideas to help you kickstart a vision board of your own.

5 Steps to Kickstart a Vision Board of Your Own

  1. Gather Pull together some of your favorite magazines. The more variety the better. Cooking magazines, adventure magazines, sports magazines, decor, fashion, parenting… you get the idea.
  2. Clip Begin Clipping photos and words that make you smile. Or that give you a little ‘flutter’ in your belly. Or that seem to be whispering “clip me!”
  3. Discover Determine what size board you’re going to need. By now you may notice a thvisionboardb-1eme in the imagery that captured your attention this sitting. Perhaps you didn’t know it, but it’s time to focus on your sense of fashion. Maybe it seems you are on your way to becoming a pro surfer. Better yet, this might be the year you unleash your inner paleo chef. Whatever it is, let’s go with it.  Spend some time arranging your images on your board and determining if you need to trim it or find a larger board.
  4. Glue Once you’ve arranged all of your images, glue!
  5. Embellish Add any finishing touches. Glitter pens, puffy paint… these give us those ‘flutters’ in our bellies 😉

This is fun at home, but it’s even more fun with a group of your favorite people. Join the Free Spirited Foundation team Thursday June 30th at the Lewes Public Library for our first Vision Boards workshop. Closet Angels There are angels everywhere you can imagine. I saw one hiding in the closet in our bedroom once & I invited her out, but she said she was waiting for a friend thank you just the same & next time I looked she was gone.

Angel of Mercy  Most people don’t know there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don’t get too comfortable & fall asleep & miss your life.

Waiting for Signs I used to wait for a sign, she said, before I did anything. Then one night I had a dream & an angel in black tights came to me & said, you can start any time now, & then I asked is this a sign? & the angel started laughing & I woke up. Now, I think the whole world is filled with signs, but if there’s no laughter, I know they’re not for me.

waitingforsignsThe Storypeople is an incredible collaboration of stories collected from all over the world in the early 90’s, just as the internet was being born.  Andreas took these stories and brought them to life in his very distinct playful style of art. The Storypeople collection now includes twelve books incorporating drawings and writings; color prints of his drawings and short stories; and mixed-media sculptures.

In 1994, Andreas co-founded the company, Storypeople, to distribute his work worldwide, with a group describing themselves collectively as a diverse group of people, artists, activists, healers, tinkerers. and in 2012 he founded tumblecloud.com, a collaborative digital storytelling  and communication platform that “will change the way we view ourselves & the planet. Moving from data to meaning. With tools that will help us remember that we’re all creative & beautiful & alive. Tools that will help us remember who we are.” (Andreas. 2009).

On their site, the Storypeople team states “Our wish is that other people experience this amazing world we live in as a world of imagination & possibility & healing. We believe our stories do that. (& that’s not just StoryPeople stories, but all our stories…) We believe (fiercely) in the power of stories, not because they’re our stories, but because it is valuable & right to protect the precious connections between people.”

Interview with Angels Tea Talk Speaker Melissa Hickey

Q & A with Tea Talk with the Angels Guest Speaker
Integrative Psychotherapist Melissa Hickey MS, NCC

Q: How did you come to believe in Angels?
A:  I have always believed in guardian angels since I was a young girl.  When I got older I began to have dreams of angels and then I started to meditate to ask the angel to reveal it’s name to me.  The angel was Uriel and at first I thought, that’s not a real angel!  Uriel is not mentioned in many of the standard biblical texts, but when I searched deeper and found the lost books of Enoch and other esoteric writings I saw the “Uriel is the flame of wisdom and assists us with knowing our higher selves.” As I deepened this relationship amazing things began to come together in my life and I new that these relationships were genuine and real.

Q: How do you utilize the angels in your life?
A:  Personally I use them for wisdom, for self knowledge and for my counseling/healing practice.  I will call upon the angels to work with me for specific clients and their needs.  Sometimes it is Michael who will come through and other times other angels depending upon the individual situation.  I feel that they guide me in giving my clients the best possible care and support.  I also ask my angels to guide and protect family and loved ones.

Q: If you could encourage others to accept the angels into their lives, what would you believe the benefits to be?
A: “The angels want to assist us in all manners of life:  protection, self care, growth, knowledge, higher understanding of self, deeper intuition,  and of course making life decisions.”  I especially lean on my angel, Uriel, when I have a huge decision to make and I am feeling unsure.  I meditate and ask for guidance and insight and he never fails!

Q: Who would benefit from attending this angels workshop?
A: Anyone and everyone!  “Whether you have had a lot of experience with angels, or perhaps you are delving into this for the first time- this is a wonderful way to begin to connect.”  The workshop will talk about the different charism of each angel, the various stones or crystals that they work with, and also colors and other associations.  In addition, we will do a guided meditation on meeting the angels and getting to know them better.  This may be a bit too much for children, but I offer separate angel classes for children of all ages to explore.
